PURPOSE:To obtain a germicide, etc., to a specific pathogenic germ, by transforming recombinant plasmid PMFB1 into host bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa and providing it with biphenyl metabolizing function. CONSTITUTION:An adventitious gene derived from Pseudomonas pseudo alcaligenes, having biphenyl metabolizing function, 7.9 kilo base molecular weight and number of base cleavage characterized by restriction enzymes shown by the formula I is recombined with vector PFK330 derived from Escherichia coli. The recombinant plasmid PMFB1 is transformed into Pseudomonas aeruginosa KF257 strain, to give transformed basterium Pseudomonas aeruginisa KF257 strain having biphenylmetabolizing function. |
