PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to calculate the value of power consumption using the pulse width modulation signal of an inverter. CONSTITUTION: A histogram analysis unit(104) generates a histogram based on the gradation difference of an RGB pixel data which is input from the outside. A gain value extraction unit(105) outputs a gain value based on the histogram analysis result. A dimming signal generator(106) generates dimming signal based on the gain value. A pulse width modulation signal in which a duty rate is varied is generated using the dimming signal. A power consumption calculator(108) calculates a power consumption value which is corresponds to the pulse width modulation signal. A power consumption display data is output to a timing control unit(103).
