PURPOSE:To certainly perform thermal transfer printing by a simple structure, by applying liquid ink consisting of a thermoplastic resin, a colorant and an org. solvent to a support and drying the coating layer before transferring the same to a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A core 6 is provided to a container 2 through a press stay 4 and a spring 5. A support 1 is driven to the direction shown by an arrow A in such a state that the core 6 is contacted with the single surface of the support 1 and liquid ink 3b is applied to the support 1 to be dried. A transfer means 9 is contacted with the support 1 from the side not coated with the liquid ink 3b of said support 1 and a recording medium 11 is contacted with the opposite side of said support 1 through a platen roller 10. A printing signal is imparted by a transfer means 9 to form a heat pattern and the ink 3b is transferred to the recording medium 11. As mentioned above, because a thermal transfer ribbon preliminarily coated with ink is not used, there is no trouble such as blocking or the release of the ink from a support film. |
