A follow-up control circuit which is provided for the motion control of a hydraulic feed drive unit and works with an electrically controlled preset desired-position value and a mechanical actual-position feedback, where the working-medium flows delivered to the drive unit and flowing off from the drive unit are directed via valve elements of a follow-up control valve. The magnitude of the working-medium flows determines the velocity v of the tool movements. The valve elements can be opened together in a controlled manner by adjusting displacements epsilon 1 and epsilon 2 respectively in accordance with the preset desired value. The circuit amplification Kv can be reversed by valve-controlled actuation of a reversing device. In this follow-up control circuit, the follow-up control valve has at least one additional valve element which also performs the adjusting movements of the valve elements utilized for the motion control with the circuit amplification Kv1. Leading via this valve element is a flow path which is parallel to the flow path of the follow-up control valve and can be cleared by the activation of an amplifying control-valve arrangement, as a result of which the circuit amplification Kv2 is set, and a control device is provided with which the control-valve arrangement, in keeping with the demand, can be shifted in a controlled manner into its through-flow position effecting the operation with the changed value Kv2.
