A description is given of a centrifugal barrel-finishing machine comprising a cylindrical container and a rotating base, in which, for the purpose of keeping the gap between the rotating plate and the container free, operating agent is supplied through the gap from bottom to top, and the operating agent is channelled away via a screen region in the container wall and/or an outlet provided in the centre of the plate.
