PURPOSE:To enable the reading of a max. value even if a magnetic sensor element moves to the max. displaceable position, by forming the rows of uppermost rank bits of magnetizing parts to be sensed in an extended state so as to exceed the max. displaceable position of the magnetic sensor element. CONSTITUTION:Because the displacement range of magnetic sensor elements 101... are Po-Pe when all of conditions such as the mount position of a sensor B was set according to planning, the protruded part 116 to uppermost rank bits 6 may be extended to a position H1 slightly exceeding Pe. However, because the max. displaceable range L of the magnetic sensor elements 101... is set by a slot 20, the protruded part 116 is extended to a position F exceeding the max. displacement position so as to be capable of detecting the uppermost rank bits 6 even when the elements 101... moved to the max. displacement position. By this method, the detection of an error signal such as reading by the sensor B reaches 0 from the max. value abruptly is prevented and accurate reading is always enabled.
