An electro-hydraulic control device for the automatic shifting of the gears of a hydrodynamic-mechanical motor-vehicle transmission, containing a multigear planetary gear train, has shift members, actuable by pressure medium and assigned to the individual transmission gears, of which members at least one can be disengaged and another engaged when shifting up from a lower into a higher gear. In order to achieve an optimum, smooth gear shift when changing gears, it is proposed that a control valve (1) be provided in an actuating line (23) leading to the shift member (24) to be disengaged in the respective gear change, which valve connects the actuating line either to a pressure medium line (21) delivering the actuating pressure or to an outlet line (27), as a function of a pressure building up upstream of the shift member to be engaged and of a pressure which can be controlled by a solenoid valve (15) as a function of the operating state. <IMAGE>
