In order to be able to measure with a roller the forces arising in the roll nip of a roller device, the roller is subdivided into an outer part and an inner part, the outer part enclosing the inner part with a shrink fit. The outer part has on its inner surface surrounding grooves in the groove base of which sensors formed from strain gauges are arranged. The feed lines to the sensors run through the grooves and through an additional transverse channel.
