PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of an ingot by oscillating the wall body of a molten steel receiver body along the moving direction of the ingot during casting and inhibiting the growth of wall shells to restrain an ingot shell in the corner part between a moving mold and the wall body. CONSTITUTION:A thin sheet is obtd. by pouring a molten steel 21 into the molten steel receiver body 5, passing water to a cooling box 3, oscillating the body 5 by an oscillator 6 via the rear wall 5b of the body 5, moving the moving mold 1 in this state in an arrow A direction and drawing continuously the ingot. The wall shell 23 and the ingot shell 24 are formed on the rear mold 5b and the mold 1 during the forward movement of the rear wall 5b. The small wall shell 23a and small ingot shell 24a are generated during the backward movement of the rear wall 5b. The ingot shell 24c compressing the shells 23a, 24a is formed during the next forward movement of the rear wall 5b. The shell 23a in the corner part is stripped from the rear wall 5b when the rear wall 5b oscillates. The restrain and rupture of the ingot shell 24 are thus eliminated. |
