PURPOSE:To prevent a void form being produced by finishing surfaces of nonmagnetic ceramic members and magnetic ferrite members to be joined with abrasives of >=#1000 and bringing them into contact with each other, and forming a mutual diffusion layer by direct solid-phase reaction. CONSTITUTION:Surfaces of nonmagnetic ceramics members 2a-2c and magnetic ferrite members 1a-1c and 3a-3c of a recording and reproducing magnetic head A and an erasing magnetic head B which are to be joined are finished with abrasives of >=#1000. Then, respective cores are press-contacted with a jig and a heat-treated in an air atmosphere and the mutual diffusion layer is formed by the direct solid-phase reaction between both members to join the cores. Consequently, there is no void in joined surfaces and excellent joined surfaces are obtained, thereby improving the reliability.
