PURPOSE:To simplify a rolling mill and to ease the handling thereof by disposing a roll crossing device to the housing of a rolling mill interposed with intermediate rolls between work rolls and backup rolls in some cases and incorporating roll shifters into the rolls. CONSTITUTION:The rolling mill is constituted of the work roll pairs 36, 37 and backup roll pairs 38, 39 and is interposed with the intermediate roll pairs 40, 41 therebetween in some cases. The crossing device for the required roll pair is disposed in the housing and the roll shifters are incorporated into the required roll pair to divide and share the rolling. The mechanism for leveling the rolling material is simplified and the handling and repairing are made easy. The rolling mill is made smaller in size and lower in cost. Roll benders 42, 43 may be disposed to the roll pair which are not subjected to roll shifting. |
