PURPOSE:To provide a tensile material which reduces production of a change if size with time and is excellent in high transmission capacity and resistance to impact, by a method wherein adhesion treatment is applied on polyester cord formed by twisting polyester fiber, and orientation securing treatment is also made thereof. CONSTITUTION:Polyester cord having total denier of about 6,000-60,000, formed by vertically twisting polyester filaments, is pretreated by isocianate series or epoxy series, and thereafter, adhesive by an FRT solution is applied, and orientation thermal fixing treatment is effected at a high temperature. As a result, characteristic values, e.g., toughness of 8.5 or g/d. (%) or more 1.52g/d, Load elongation of 2.2% or less, dry heat shirnkage factor of 3.5% or less at 150 deg.C or less, and dry heat shrinkage stress of 0.20g/d or more at 150 deg.C, are provided for polyester cord.
