PURPOSE:To make the acqusition of the exact data on a japper jam between maintenance intervals in the stage of trouble diagnosing possible by clearing the data on the paper jam of a non-volatile memory upon ending of a paper jam diagnosis mode when the data on the paper jam of the non-volatile memory is outputted. CONSTITUTION:An operator assigns the trouble diagnosis mode by turning on a diagnosis mode switch 21 and commands the paper jam diagnosis mode by operating ten-key 22 or a clear key 23, then the number of copies (denominator) and the number of jammed sheets at every jammed position (numerator) between the maintenance intervals stored by the non-volatile memory 55 are outputted. A printer 4 prints out the data on the paper jam by a fractional expression in accordance said output and he maintenance operator diagnoses the paper jam. The operator turns on a stop key 24 to command the end of he paper jam diagnosis mode upon ending of the paper jam diagnosis mode. The data on the paper jam in the memory 55 is thereby cleared and the memory 55 stores the fresh data on the paper jam when the next copying operation is started. |
