CHARACTER REPLACEMENT SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To replace the different forms of characters by storing a table showing the correspondence among characters and indicating a specific character to replace this specific character with its corresponding character. CONSTITUTION:When a character string to be received the KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion is fed to a KANA/KANJI conversion part in a controller 1 from an input device 6, the contents stored in a word dictionary memory part are retrieved. Then the KANA part of the coincident one if obtained from said retrieval is converted into KANJI. A KANA- KANJI sentence thus obtained is stored to a sentence buffer 3. The contents of the buffer 3 are displayed at a display device 5. An operator locks at this display screen to decide a character to be replaced and operates an indication means 61 to shift a cursor. Thus a desired character is selected. Then the operator operates a character displacement indication means 62 to retrieve a character code corresponding to the selected character out of the KANJI codes stored in a memory means 21 and to be replaced. Then the operator reads out the character code stored and to be replaced to replace it with the selected character.
