发明名称 FORMATION OF FUEL CELL ELECTROLYTE LAYER
摘要 PURPOSE:To easily form a matrix layer having desirable thickness to increase cell performance and lengthen the life by applying the dry mixture powder of electrolyte resistant fine powder and a fluorine polymer binder onto the catalyst layer surface of at least one of porous electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A matrix layer 1 which holds electrolyte is arranged between a pair of porous electrodes comprising a fuel electrode 2 and an oxidizing agent electrode 3 each of which has a catalyst layer on its one side. The matrix layer 1 having uniform thickness is formed by applying dry mixture powder of electrolyte resistant fine powder such as silicon carbide and fluorine polymer such as polytetrafluoroethylene serving as a binder onto the catalyst layer surface of at least one of the porous electrodes and pressing the mixture powder against the electrode. The matrix layer having desirable uniform thickness is easily formed on the whole surface to increase cell performance and lengthen the life.
