PURPOSE:To enable a decoder to write picture data without consciousness of an auxiliary storage device by providing the auxiliary storage device by a virtual memory controller. CONSTITUTION:A system controller 2 inputs a corresponding compressed font data from a compressed font data storing hard disk 3 on the basis of data applied from an input machine 1 and transfers the input data to a decoder 4, which decodes the input data into font data to be directly printed and writes the decoded data in a virtual memory controller 5. The controller 5 uses a picture memory hard disk 6 as a virtual memory to store the font data temporarily. The writing operation in the controller 5 is the same as hat of the decoder 14 in a semiconductor 15. The decoder 4 can write the decoded font data only in the controller 5 without the consciousness of the hard disk 6. |
