PURPOSE:To enhance the speed and positional accuracy of an image and to make said image approximate to an actual target, by forming the titled simulator from an infrared image generation means, an image-projecting screen, a movable mirror means and a stage. CONSTITUTION:An infrared image generation means 14 consists of an infrared ray source 22, a collimator 24 magnifying the diameter of laser beam emitted from the infrared ray source 22 to convert the same to parallel beam and a mask pattern 26. A plurality of mask patterns 26 are prepared like a picture film and an image can be changed from a remote one to an approximate one by changing the mask patterns 26. A movable mirror means 18 has two independent swing mechanisms having directivity and comprises the mirror 34 mounted to a movable apparatus 32 capable of sliding a lens to two directions and irradiates the arbitrary position of a screen 16 with an infrared image. A control means 36 controls the rotary stage 20 of an object to be measured 12 and the movable apparatus 32 of the movable mirror means 18.
