PURPOSE:To clearly recognize respective ranges of a homonym and execute easily and rapidly selection work by providing the second selecting means indicating a range of the homonym by a specific second indicating formation when an object to be selected is designated from the homonym indicated by the first indication formation. CONSTITUTION:When an input having a conversion designation is performed from an input section 1, an analyzing section 2 judges it to be the data of the conversion designation and feeds KANA (Japanese syllabary) character strings to a converting section 3. The converting section 3 extracts an independent word or analyzes attached words by referring to the Japanese syllabary character strings and a single word dictionary and converts the inputted Japanese syllabary character strings into a Japanese syllabary and Chinese characters mixed sentence and feeds to a control section 4. A final priority is a high using frequency, for instance a total sum added to the single word when candidates are combined. The control section 4 adds this result to a previous converting result, renews a display management table 5a corresponding to a picture plane, stores a homonym block in the homonym memory section 5b, feeds to an output section 6 the converting result to display and at the same time displays the existence of the homonym.
