PURPOSE:To excavate a vertical shaft with good efficiency by a method in which an excavator to form a vertical shaft is provided to a mobile excavator, and a hopper to store excavated soil temporarily is provided to the excavator. CONSTITUTION:An upper slewing body 3 is provided to the upside of an excavator body 1, and a rising and falling boom 5 to be operated by a boom cylinder 4 is provided to the front of the slewing body 3. An expandible tube 6 with a bucket 10 is hung down from the tip of the boom 5, and a tilt cylinder 7 is provided between the bracket 5a of the boom 5 and the tube 6a. A carrier 11 to be loaded with excavated soil reaching the upper end of the tube 6 is also provided, and a hopper 12 to store soil is provided to the rear end of the carrier means 11.
