<p>A tangential belt drive is used with a plurality of similar working aggregates of a machine for producing twisted or spinned yarns. The working aggregates are divided into sections containing an at least approximatively equal number of working aggregates each driven by a tangential belt (1, 7) connected to an electric motor (8). The number of working aggregates in each section, taking into account the output required for such number of working aggregates and the admissible extension of the belt, is determined so that the tangential belts have substantially lower width and thickness than normal. The return pulleys of tangential belts of adjacent sections are further interconnected so as to be torsion resistant. In order to improve the synchronization and power transmission within and between the sections, the arc of contact around the return pulleys and the drive pulleys is increased. In a first embodiment, said increase is obtained by a corresponding spatial arrangement of the drive pulleys with respect to the return pulleys (14, 15), and in a second embodiment by using an additional belt transmission (21).</p> |
