PURPOSE:To improve the joint strength by forming a tapered surface on each one end part of superconductive wires having each different sectional size, sticking a pair of abutting members to the side face of its end part, and also applying heating and pressure. CONSTITUTION:Superconductive wires I, II having each different sectional size are formed so that the height is the same, and a width of one of them is larger than that of the other. An insulating material 3 of one end of the superconductive wires I, II is peeled off, and also a tapered surface is formed within a range of about 3-5 degrees in each end part. Also, a section area of a metallic fiber 1 and a metallic matrix 2 is made large, and the joint surface is formed so as to be large enough. Next, a pair of abutting members 4, 5 consisting of a copper material of the same material as that of the metallic matrix 2 are stuck to both side faces of the superconductive wires I, II, and heating is executed for a prescribed time at a temperature of 400-500 deg.C and by an applied pressure of about 20-60kg/cm<2>. In this way, a step difference of the joint part is dissolved and the joint strength can be raised, and also the superconductive characteristic can be improved. |
