PURPOSE:To properly control colored particle diameter by simple means and to maintain its distribution uniform by selecting a reaction medium for dissolving radically polymerizable monomer so as for the medium not to dissolve the polymerization product, and dividing addition of the rest of the monomer. CONSTITUTION:The radically polymerizable monomer is dissolved in the reaction medium and a colorant is dissolved or dispersed in it, and the medium is selected so as not to dissolve the polymer product. A part of monomer is polymerized in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator, the rest of the monomer is added dividedly, thus permitting the obtained colored polymer particles to have particle diameters between those of emulsion polymerization and those of suspension polymerization and an average particle diameter of 1-30mum, and to be properly controlled in particle diameter by simple means and maintained uniform in its distribution. |
