PURPOSE:To centralize an access to a file storing a KANJI (Chinese character) converting dictionary by applying a conversion indication operation only once to plural KANA (Japanese syllabary) strings inputted by segmenting them into a paragraph and converting said strings into a KANA and KANJI mixing character string. CONSTITUTION:A decoder 2 inputs an input data 100 and transmits a space signal 101, a converting signal 102, a mode signal 103 and a KANA code 111. A counter 3 inputs the signal 101 so as to count it, transmits a conversion indicating signal 104 according to the signal 102 and simultaneously subtracts the content by one whenever a read indicating signal 105 is inputted. A switching part 4 transmits a space display signal 106 in correspondence to the contents of the signal 103. A buffer 5 inputs the code 111, and transmits a read-out data 112 at every segment by means of a space according to the signal 105. A read control part 6 inputs the signal 102, transmits the signal 105 according to the signal 104, simultaneously transmits the data 112 as a character data 113, and obtains a KANJI data 115 with the aid of a converting part 7.
