PURPOSE:To prevent a recording paper from being vibrated on a platen and reduce printer noises, by a method wherein the outer peripheral surface of a platen is statically electrified, and at least a part of a recording paper opposed to a printing member is brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surface. CONSTITUTION:The platen 5 comprises a cylindrical body of a rubber or the like which is externally fixed to a rotary shaft 5a by press fitting or the like, and the outer peripheral surface is statically electrified. For static electrification, the cylindrical part is formed of a material easy to statically electrify, such as ebonite and a plastic. The part of the recording paper 4 opposed to a printing head 9 and the outer peripheral surface of the platen 5 are maintained in close contact with each other, leaving no gap G therebetween, even under the condition where a print wire is not protruded. Namely, at least the part of the paper 4 opposing to the printing member is maintained in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the platen 5. Accordingly, the paper 4 is not vibrated even in continuous printing operation by reciprocating the print wire, and noise can be prevented from being generated due to vibration of the paper 4. In addition, since the paper 4 is not vibrated, favorable printing quality can be obtained. |
