PURPOSE:To record with high quality free of nonuniformity in transfer even on a recording paper having a low smoothness, by a system wherein a platen is magnetized in a predetermined direction, and a magnetic substance having good affinity to a heat-fusible ink is incorporated in the heat-fusible ink applied to an ink film. CONSTITUTION:Of a flat platen 1, the surface against which a thermal head 3 is pressed through the ink film 2 and a recording paper 4 is uniformly magnetized (S pole). The thermal head 3 is constituted of a ceramic substrate 31 and a heating element 32, while the ink film 2 comprises a layer of the heat-fusible ink 21 containing magnetic particles 23 mixed therein and a base film formed of PETP or the like. When the heating element 32 of the thermal head 3 is energized by a printing signal to generate heat, the magnetic particles 23 dispersed in the melted part (shaded part) (a) of the ink 21 are attracted toward the platen 1 under the magnetic filed of the platen 1, resulting in uniform recording even where the recording surface of the recording paper 4 is minutely rugged. |
