PURPOSE:To prevent precipitation of white powder even if water from a city water system is directly inputted and used, by incorporating ion exchanged resin by a cartridge method. CONSTITUTION:An ion exchange resin cartridge 8 is filled with ion exchanged resin 13 between a cartridge case 10 having a water outlet port 9 on the side surface and an intermediate bottom 12, in which a water inlet port 11 and a water injecting projection 3 are provided. A water tank 14 is formed by the cartridge case 10 and the intermediate bottom 12. A water tank 2 containing water from a city water system is set on a main body 5 of a moisture applying device. Then, the water injecting projection 3 opens a water injecting cap 1. The water from the city water system is collected in the water tank 14 at first. Then, the water passes in the horizontal direction from the water inlet port 11 to the ion exchange resin 13. Various ions are removed, and the water is guided to an ultrasonic wave oscillator 4.
