PURPOSE:To protect the surface of a discoid medium from dust and moisture and to simplify the handling of the medium at transportation by forming a resin film onto the surface of the discoid medium for information recording. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacture of the discoid medium 10, a disc core 11 is formed by applying injection molding to a synthetic resin virgin into, e.g., a narrow cavity of a molding die. After the surface of the core 11 is processed, the resin coating film 12 is formed so as to cover both front and rear faces and the peripheral. Thus, at the storage period before the post-processing, adhesion of dust/dirt and reception of moisture on the surface of the discoid medium 10 are prevented and even when plural discoid media 10 are stacked, since no flaw is given to the magnetic film processing face, the handling at transportation is simplified.
