PURPOSE:To omit key operations even for small characters of adopted words, etc. that could not be produced in a single syllable, by providing a small character converting part where the small characters corresponding to KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters are added to the corresponding KANA characters as the speech recognition candidates. CONSTITUTION:When at least one of 'A', 'I', 'E' and 'O' or 'YU' is recognized out of a character string obtained through speech recognition, it is checked whether the syllable preceding the recognized one by a position is equal to a specific one or not. A small character converting part 3 is provided to add the small characters 'a', 'i', 'e' and 'o' or 'yu' corresponding to those KANA characters 'A', 'I', 'E' and 'O' or 'YU' respectively as the speech recognition candidates. Thus the input of small characters like adopted words, etc. is possible in a single syllable without pushing the small character keys nor increasing the capacity of an independent word dictionary 4. |
