PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of contact demagnetizing effect by providing a filter element on a main body of a screen, and magnetizing said element by inserting a permanent magnet into cylinder for inserting the magnet protruding after penetrating through the main body of the screen. CONSTITUTION:A filter element 11 is packed upto the top of a cylinder 12 for inserting a magnet. When a permanent magnet 13 is inserted into the cylinder 12, the filter element 11 is magnetized by the magnetic field. Liquid to be treated in introduced into a filtration layer 10 under this condition, and clad is captured by sucking and the liquid to be treated is discharged from a liquid outlet port 6. On one hand, the permanent magnet 13 is moved downward and housed in a housing 22. The filter element 11 is demagnetized, and washing liquid is introduced from the liquid outlet port 6 to perform backwashing. Thus, the clad is separated and discharged from an inlet port 5 of the liquid.
