PURPOSE:To obtain a clean plated surface on the whole surface of a strip by removing foreign matter suspending in a plating soln. to both sides of a region in front of dam rolls and by forming a clean liq. curtain in the region where the strip is held between two pairs of dam rolls. CONSTITUTION:Dam rolls 11, 12 are placed on the inlet and outlet sides of a horizontal continuous plating tank 10. A strip 13 enters the plating tank 10 through the gap between the upper and lower dam rolls 11 on the inlet side, passes through the space between upper and lower electrodes 14, and leaves the tank 10 through the gap between the upper and lower dam rolls 12 on the outlet side. At this time, a plating soln. on the surface of the strip 13 is squeezed by the dam rolls 12. A plating soln. spraying nozzle 21 communicating with plating soln. feeding headers 15 is placed on the inside of the dam rolls 12 in the tank 10 at a position corresponding to the central part of the dam rolls 12. The nozzle 21 sprays a plating soln. from the central part of the strip 13 toward both sides.
