PURPOSE:To increase a continuing time of a strike exerted on a pile, according to the method wherein the hammer ram of a pile driver is divided into an upper and a lower ram body, and buffering materials are respectively disposed between the upper and the lower ram body, and the lower ram body and a pile cap. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 4 is formed in the upper surface of a lower ram body 2, a buffering material 5, such as Belleville spring, is placed internally of the recessed part 4, and a buffering material 11, such as pads, is located between the lower ram body 2 and a pile cap 9. With upper and lower ram bodies 1 and 2 dropped, dropping energy of the lower ram body 2 is transmitted through the buffering material 11 to the pile cap 9 and a pile 7. Dropping energy of the upper ram body 1 is added to that of the lower ram body 2 through the buffering material 5, and is transmitted as energy of the lower ram body 2 to the pile cap 9 and the pile 7. This increases a continuing time of a strike on the pile 7, and performs efficient penetration of the pile 7.
