PURPOSE:To obtain superior surface characteristics such as superior wear, corrosion and heat resistances by irradiating high density heating energy on the surface of a part on which a plated layer is formed to rapidly melt the surface layer, rapidly solidifying the molten layer again, and plating the surface of the solidified layer. CONSTITUTION:High density heating energy 3 such as TIG arc, electron beams or laser beams is irradiated on the surface of the part of an Al alloy casting 1 on which a plated layer is formed to rapidly melt the surface layer 2A. The molten layer is rapidly solidified again by stopping the irradiation to form a surface free from defects such as pinholes or blow holes. The surface of the solidified layer is then plated.
