PURPOSE:To promote complete combustion and improve combustion efficiency, by controlling an injection amount of fuel and its injection pressure so as to control a grain size of fuel drip, predetermined in accordance with a desired fuel injection amount and engine speed, to a desired value. CONSTITUTION:A device sets a main injector 7 and a subinjector 8 in a position near a cylinder head 3 in an intake manifold 6, and the pressure of fuel, supplied to each injector 7, 8, is controlled by adjusting a return amount of fuel, returned to a fuel tank 26 from the half way of a fuel line 31, through a pressure regulator 30. While an injection amount of fuel is controlled by adjusting a number of pulses applied to a solenoid coil provided in each injector 7, 8. And the device controls the pressure regulator 30 and the solenoid coil by a fuel control unit 25 so that a grain size of fuel drip, injected from each injector 7, 8, obtains a predetermined value in accordance with a desired fuel injection amount and engine speed.
