PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of noise and to improve an output, by a method wherein, in a combustion having a dome positioned eccentrically from the central line of a cylinder toward the suction port side, the arears of two different specified faces in relation to the dome and a skish zone are set to a specified relation. CONSTITUTION:A combustion chamber 9 is positioned eccentrically by a specified distance X from a central line O1-O1 of a cylinder toward the suction port side, and has a dome 10, formed in a circle in cross section extended along the radial direction of a cylinder 1a, and an annular skish zone 11 spreading in succession to the dome 10 toward the outer peripheral side of the top surface of a piston. In this constitution, a relation between S1 and S2 is set to S1<S2, wherein S1 is the area of a surface concentrical to the dome 10 and surrounded with an intersection line between an extension line along a slanted surface 10b of the dome 10 and a plane passing the maximum size part of the skish zone 11, and S2 is an annular area being the area of the maximum size part of the skish zone 11 less the area S1.
