PURPOSE:To move an actuator at a high speed and exactly by a desired number of tracks, by constituting the titled device so that the actuator is moved continuously by the desired number of tracks by a moving operation of once, and the highest speed is maintained in the course of its moving period. CONSTITUTION:When a continuous jump instruction and a necessary number of jump tracks, etc. are inputted to a terminal 48, a system control circuit 47 cuts off a loop of a tracking servo-system, and simultaneously, supplies the prescribed first impulse to an actuator 37. As a result, the actuator 37 jumps continuously in the direction which is determined by a jump polarity signal. Also, a moving speed of the actuator immediately after the operation is started is detected, and based on its result, a reference signal is generated, to which the moving speed of the actuator is always made to coincide. Also, by storing a binary data subtracted '1' from the necessary number of jump tracks, in a memory 44, the loop becomes on at this side by a 1/2 track of the target track, and the second impulse whose polarity is opposite, and whose height and area are equal is applied to the actuator, and it stops exactly on a desired track.
