A snap lock for automatically securing the retracted position of extendable drawers in shelves or cupboards is designed so that, even in the case of drawers of large width, it ensures symmetrical locking, but nevertheless allows easy one-handed operation during opening. For this purpose, it has two snap catches 12a, 12b directed on opposite sides and located in the ends of a downwardly open grip strip arranged on the drawer 7 at the front and extending over its entire width. Guided at least over half the length within the grip strip 10 is a release handle 21 which is coupled to the catch members 13a and 13b of the two snap catches 12a and 12b via pull means 20a, 20b, located within the release handle 21, for oppositely directed movement. <IMAGE> |
