PURPOSE:To attain the parallel processing with plural disk devices by utilizing effectively the idle state of a device interface which is produced while a cylinder is switched during the transfer of data. CONSTITUTION:Plural disk devices connected to the device interface of an input/output controller by a data quantity calculation part 32 of a single cylinder, a processing quantity calculation part 33 of a designated cylinder and a processing quantity calculation part 34 of the next cylinder. A single cylinder consists of plural tracks containing plural sectors for the disk device. Then the cylinder No., the track No. and the sector No. showing the file address are shown at the start position for transfer of data. Thus the processing quantity of each cylinder is obtained based on the input/output command given from a CPU to obtain the device commands. Then a 'seek' command is put between the device commands for production a device command train against the corresponding input/output command. This command train is sent to the disk device for its starting.
