PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in the resolution of a white-and-black picture existing on the same scanning line as a colorpicture in comparison with a white-and-black picture which does not exist on the same scanning line as the color picture, by changing the form of a color discrimination signal so that the area of the color picture and that of the white-and- black picture on the same scanning line can be distinguished from each other. CONSTITUTION:An input signal Sf is delayed in a 1H delay device 10 by one scanning line period and is stored in a memory 11, and a part S1 is stored in the memory 11 and a part S2 is stored in a memory 12. A color demodulator 16 uses a color discrimination signal Sp of the part S2 to divide the signal so that P1':P2':P3'=P1:P2:P3 is true and obtains signals Y21, Y23, Y11, Y12, Y13 thereby and divides the chroma signal part P2 into two to obtain signals G12' and B12'. Color difference signals G12' and B12' and the luminance signal Y12 are used to generate three primary color signals Ra, Ga, and Ba in the section P2, and signals Y11, Ra, Y13, Y21, and Y23 are stored in a memory 13, and signals Y11, Ga, Y13, Y21, and Y23 are stored in a memory 14, and signals Y11, Ba, Y13, Y21 and Y23 are stored in a memory 15. A signal reproducer 18 reads out contents of memories 13-15 synchronously with a synchro nizing signal SH to generate signals Yr', Yg', and Yb', and a color printer 19 uses these signals Yr', Yg', and Yb' and the horizontal synchronizing signal SH to print a picture. |
