PURPOSE:The titled fibers containing a sheath component of a polyester slightly dyeable with cationic dyes and a core component of cation-dyeablle modified polyester and capable of producing colored patterns of high quality comparable to that of printing by dip dyeing depending on the presence and absence of an alkali. CONSTITUTION:Sheath-core type conjugate polyester fibers containing a polyester slightly dyeable with cationic dyes as a sheath component and a cationic- dyeable polyester modified with a copolymerization component as a core component, and obtained by conjugate spinning to give 0.05-0.3 cross-sectional area ratio of the sheath component to the yarn cross section in the yarn cross section perpendicular to the yarn axis of the sheath-core type conjugate polyester fibers. An isophthalic component containing metallic sulfonate group, e.g. dimethyl (5-sodium sulfo)isophthalate, and a polyalkylene glycol, e.g. polyethylene glycol, are preferably used together as the copolymerization component in the core component.
