AL2O3-AL-SI-TYPE COMPOSITE MATERIAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain an Al2O3-Al-Si-type composite material having superior wear resistance as well as high mechanical strength by dipping in molten Al a formed body consisting of glass fiber mainly composed of SiO2. CONSTITUTION:The preformed body consisting of glass fiber mainly composed of SiO2 is dipped in the high-purity molten Al, by which Al is allowed to react with SiO2 so that SiO2 is partially replaced by Al2O3. In this way, mechanical strength and wear resistance are increased and lubricity as well as toughness can be sharply improved.
