PURPOSE:To minimize the number of the file operated by a user and to decrease the burden of the file operation by providing a system file operating means united with the file operation of a form setting information, the fixed form of a phrase, a foreign language, etc., defined by the user. CONSTITUTION:A document data file operating means 4 to execute the file operation of recording and calling the document data processed by a document editing means 2, and a system file operating means 5 to execute the file operation of recording and calling the data to store the data such as the form setting, the fixed form of the phrase, and the foreign language defined by the user are provided. When the correcting work of the document data, the foreign language, and the fixed form of the phrase is executed, conventionally, it is necessary to call, correct and record respectively the foreign language file, the file of the fixed form of the phrase and the document data file, and on the other hand, the calling, correcting and recording of the foreign language file and the file of the fixed form of the phrase are united by using the system file operating means 5, and as the system file, the calling, correcting and recording are executed.
