PURPOSE:To prevent an image due to a smear noise from appearing in the playback image, by correcting the signal charge by the charge corresponding to the smear noise charge transferred from the vertical CCD portion during a vertical blanking period. CONSTITUTION:In a first signal readout period, the signal charge in a receptor and storage element 1a1 of a receptor and storage portion 1a is sent for transfer through a vertical CCD portion 2a and a charge separation portion 21a to a first horizontal CCD portion 3. In a charge-storing portion 22a, the charge corresponding to a smear noise transferred during the previous blanking period is stored, and the charge generated in a charge generator portion 23a is read out for transfer into a second horizontal CCD 24 in synchronism with the charge transfer clock of the first horizontal CCD 3. In a second and a third signal readout periods, charge is transferred from receptor and storage elements 1a2, 1a3, and the vertical blanking period comes. The signal charge amount of the CCD portion 3 is corrected on the basis of the charge amount transferred at the CCD portion 24, thereby removing the effect of the smear noise from the image signal. |
