PURPOSE:To obtain a recording image of good quality having no variance by detecting the amount of a developer conveyed by either of a developer agitating means and a developer supply means and controlling the driving of the developer supply means according to the detected amount of the developer. CONSTITUTION:Toner replenished from a toner tank 39 through an opening part 40 is supplied to a right direction by rotating a driving shaft 33 through an M1 as a driving source, the 1st gear 41, the 2nd gear 42, the 3rd gear 43, etc., and rotating a spring coil 34 by the frictional transmission of a clutch part 36. The supplied toner is agitated by an agitating means and charged electrostatically by friction according to the agitation, and then supplied to an adjacent developing roller 23. The developing roller 23 consists of a magnet roller 25 which rotates as shown by F and a developing sleeve which rotates as shown by G and conveys the toner as shown by G, and the toner is made into a proper toner layer by a toner layer thickness control blade 26, thereby developing an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive body 27.
