<p>PURPOSE:To enable a thermal dot to have higher density, by lowering the resistivity of resistor portions between electrodes disposed in pairs on a side edge of a thermal resistor and the other side edge thereof. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of electrodes 3 and 4 so formed respectively as to be laid over a side edge of a resistor 2 and the other side edge thereof are coupled with each other. Resistor portions 2A between both the electrodes 3 and 4 are used as thermal dots. Lowering the resistivity of the resistor portions 2A between the pairs of electrodes 3 and 4 by applying high pressure pulse therebetween results in the adjacent resistor portions 2A across resistor portions 2B being equivalently and substantially opened or isolated with each other, even if the resistivity of the resistor portions 2B between the adjacent electrodes is not changed at all. Accordingly, if an electric power is supplied between the electrodes 3 and 4 when printing, the opportunity that a current flows toward the other electrodes adjacent to the electrodes 3 and 4 is reduced, permitting only the resistor portions 2A to be heated.</p> |
