PURPOSE:To facilitate modification of production type or ratio by welding the neck section of valve and the stem of electron gun inserted into the neck section through burner in sealing device for cathode ray tube during carriage thereby sealing the valve and the electron gun. CONSTITUTION:A valve V and an electron gun G are fed from the storage station 99 through carrying conveyor 91 to the valve holder 21 on transfer conveyor 75 and positioned to perform work at each position and movement of valve holder 21 between respective position in parallel. At second or fourth position, a portion of neck section N near to the electron gun sealing position is preheated through preheating burner 81 while at the fifth position, the portion of the neck section for sealing the electron gun is locally heated through a sealing burner 81 to adhere hermetically to the inside glass stem and at the sixth and seventh positions, the portion of the neck section N near to the sealing position is annealed by an annealing burner 81 to remove distortion thus to finish sealing of the valve V and the electron gun G. Consequently, the production type and ratio of cathode ray tube can be modified easily. |
