PURPOSE:To increase the flowability of a slag forming material and to accelerate the denitrifying action when molten pig iron is dephosphorized with the slag forming material contg. CaO and CaF2 as the principal components, by adding a prescribed amount of CaCl2 to the slag forming material. CONSTITUTION:A slag forming material 3 contg. CaO and CaF2 as the principal components is put on molten pig iron 2 poured into a blast furnace pan 2 from a blast furnace. At this time, CaCl2 is added to the slag forming material 3. CaO powder is then blown into the molten pig iron 2 from the 1st lance 4 with gaseous N2, and at the same time, oxygen is blown on the surface of the molten pig iron 2 from the 2nd lance 6 to carry out dephosphorization. Since the slag forming material 3 contains CaCl2, the basicity of the material 3 rises, the flowability increases and the denitrifying action is accelerated. |
