PURPOSE:To perform accurate pressure inspection by forming a pessure chamber around an object to be examined and applying a uniform pressure to the outside periphery of the object to be examined through an expansible cover member. CONSTITUTION:A pressure chamber 16 surrounded with a cylindrical body 1, a cover body fixing plate 3, a paper tube outside ring 9, and a sheet body 12 around a paper tube (a) is formed in a peripheral pressure inspection device, and a fluid is supplied from a supply entrace 17. The sheet body 12 around the paper tube (a) prevents the fluid from contacting directly with the outside peripheral surface of the paper tube (a) to protect the paper tube (a) which is degenerated by contacting with the fluid. Even if the paper tube (a) is deformed as shown by a broken line a', the sheet body 12 is deformed while being closely into contact with the outside peripheral surface of the paper tube (a) because the sheet body 12 is expansible. As the result, an external pressure acts upon the outside peripheral surface of the paper tube (a) without being affected by the sheet body 12 even after deformation of the paper tube (a) is started, and correct measurement is possible therefore.
