PURPOSE:To cope with the change of types of terminals by discriminating automatically corresponding application programs through a terminal controller according to the types of terminals and the LU numbers sent from a terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:The contents of a terminal structure table 5 include plural terminal types and their corresponding programs per LU number. The LU number of a terminal equipment 3 and the terminal type data are stored in an initiate telegram sent from the equipment 3 connected to a terminal controller 1. A terminal control part 2 of the controller 1 decodes the LU number of the terminal equipment 3 and the terminal type data from the initiate telegram and obtains the application program used to the equipment 3 out of the table 5.
