The present invention, known as: "Portable electromechanical cradle-rocker which simulates the presence of the mother or of an animal", is an autonomous domestic device automatically generating a rocking motion which can sooth or put to sleep a neonate left alone in his cradle. The rocking motion is obtained by the rotation, at moderate speed, of an eccentric mass which can move away to a greater or lesser extent from its centre of rotation according to the fluctuations into the speed. Several improvements are proposed, such as: manual or automatic adjustment of the speed of rotation, timing of the command for stopping the motion, recording and reproducing a prerecorded audible sequence. This mechanism may be covered with any coatings of the type which characterise toys for infants. <IMAGE>
