PURPOSE:To stabilize voltage and increase capacity of a battery by using a positive active material obtained by contacting a mixture of silver peroxide particles and metallic silver particles to alkaline solution to form a dense silver oxide layer on the surface of silver peroxide particles. CONSTITUTION:Silver peroxide particles are mixed with metallic silver particles, and the mixture is brought into contact with alkaline solution in order to gently react and form a dense silver oxide layer on the surface of silver peroxide particles. A silver oxide battery is formed by using the particles as positive active material. Since the uniform stable layer is easily formed on the surface of fine primary particles of silver peroxide having a particle size of micron order, a voltage of 1.5V is obtained and scattering of voltage is eliminated and capacity is increased. |
